Als er iets is waar ik soms uren aan kwijt kan zijn, waar ik mij sinds mensheugenis al mee bezig houd, waar ik nagenoeg zonder enige aarzeling al mijn geld aan uitgeef, wat eigenlijk een doorlopend project is en als een rode draad door mijn leven loopt, dan is het wel mijn haar en haarproducten.
Tijdens mijn eindeloos gestruin (want reviews lezen!) op het internet, op zoek naar een shampoo voor m'n gekleurde haar die even goed - dan niet beter - is dan de Kerastase Chroma Captive die ik nu gebruik, ben ik (zoals eigenlijk altijd) wat andere haarproducten tegengekomen die mij van mijn zoektocht hebben afgeleid: de Elnett Heat Protection Styling Spray voor volume, en de Batiste droogshampoo voor medium & brunette. Gelukkig was ik vandaag in de gelegenheid om wat winkels in te gaan zodat ik deze twee beloftes in een spuitbus aan mijn arsenaal aan haargereedschap toe kon voegen, naast mijn geliefde coconut oil die ik haal bij De Tuinen (en die je echt óveral voor kan gebruiken, maar daar zal ik later nog een post aan wijden) en mijn trouwe beauty on a budget Gliss Kur Total repair mask waar ik mn haar al jaren aan toevertrouw.
If there's something I can spend hours on, something that I (sometimes unfortunately) don't mind splurging on, a continuous project that is the theme of my life, it would be my hair and hair products.
During my search for another good - if not better - shampoo to (maybe) replace the Kerastase Chroma Captive that I've been using, I came across several other hair products that caught my attention: the Elnett Heat Protection Styling Spray for volume, and the (in)famous Batiste dry shampoo for medium & brunette. Being a product junkie of course I had to have it. And so today I had the chance to buy them, along with two of my favourite hair products: raw coconut oil (purchased at De Tuinen, can be used for nearly éverything and is worthy of a post of its own), and my beauty-on-a-budget-buy Gliss Kur Total Repair hairmask that I've been faithful to for as long as my processed long hair can remember.
Met het uitproberen van de Batiste ben ik meteen begonnen toen ik thuis kwam. Afhankelijk van de drukte in mijn sociale agenda, was ik in de praktijk mijn haar vaak maar 2 keer in de week. Niet dat ik me alle andere dagen niet buiten de deur vertoon, maar mijn luiheid weerhoudt mij ervan mijn haar vaker dan 2 keer per week te wassen, drogen, fohnen, krullen... je kan de luiheid natuurlijk ook zien als een zegen, want daardoor bespaar ik mijn haar natuurlijk wel een boel ellende naast het geverf dat het al eens in de zoveel tijd moet ondergaan.
I rushed to get started with the batiste dry shampoo once I got home. Depending on my social agenda I only wash my hair twice a week. It's not the frequency I show myself to the outside world, but I'm really just too lazy to wash, dry, blowdry, curl etc. my hair more than twice a week. Of course you can see the laziness as a blessing, as it keeps my hair from having to endure more than all the hair colouring I put it through.
De Batiste droogshampoo:
Mijn pony wordt na de 2e dag al wat slierterig - wat ik tegenwoordig heel handig oplos door dan alleen m'n pony te wassen met shampoo - de rest van mn haar blijft in de punten droog, maar bij de aanzet is het wel wat 'plakkerig' (dit komt waarschijnlijk door de producten die ik gebruik wanneer ik mijn haar wél doe). Vaak draag ik om die reden op alle andere dagen mijn haar in een staart.
In short it promises to refresh unwashed hair, make it more voluminous and strengthens it, leaving it with a fresh and clean feeling. My bangs get rather greasy after a second day being unwashed - something I conveniently solve by just washing the bangs with shampoo - the ends of my hair stay quite alright but of course the roots look greasy and can even feel a bit sticky sometimes due to hair products used the days before. So on other days than wash days I usually keep my hair in a ponytail.
Helaas was ik in mijn enthousiasme vergeten een foto te maken van m'n (alweer 4e dag) ongewassen haar, maar m'n haar zag er na het gebruik van de Batiste in elk geval veel meer toonbaar uit --> geen gevreesde waas te traceren in mn haar (waarschijnlijk omdat de kleur is opgelost in mijn eigen haarkleur). Ik was zelfs zo tevreden met de weggemoffelde vettigheid dat ik zo de deur uitstapte om de uitgestelde boodschappen te halen :).
Unfortunately I forgot to take a 'before pic' to showcase my (4th day) unwashed hair, before making these pictures below. I was quite satisfied with the result as there was no feared powder to be seen on my roots (probably because this dry shampoo is slightly coloured and mixed with my own hair). Better yet, I was content with the result as such that I decided to go out to the supermarket to buy my groceries with my hair let down like that :).

De Batiste droogshampo heb ik gekocht bij de Kruidvat en kost ergens in de 5 euro. Ik ga proberen deze droogshampoo in een eerder stadium te gebruiken dan op de 4e dag zoals deze keer. Ben benieuwd hoe het dan presteert, als 'ie minder hard hoeft te werken.
The dry shampoo from Batiste I have purchased at the Kruidvat, it costs somewhere around 5 euros. I will try to use this product in an earlier stage next time as it faced quite a challenge this time, with the 4 days worthy of build up in my hair. Quite curious about how it will perform under more normal conditions.
Over de Elnett Heat Protection Styling Spray komt nog een andere post! Voor nu heb ik in elk geval voldaan aan de 2e dag van mijn "30 day challenge" van Matt Cutts (zie vorige post) :).
