City trip
Haarlem is such a wonderful city to visit. Plenty of nice restaurants and cafes, not to mention a broad range of unique little niche boutiques. For the ones that enjoy architecture and culture Haarlem is also worth to go see, as there are plenty of churches and old buildings that are quite impressive, be it in a charismatic way.
Because there are a lot of little side streets I'd advice to make up a plan and have some kind of city map first before visiting.. me and my bf have been there before and still had to turn to our mobile phones for navigation.
Lifestyle
Although I'm currently not working full time, I still get a bit excited when the weekend is around the corner =). Here's a little collage of my day, it's been really relaxing, just strolling around the city and no cooking haha!
I apologise for the crappy quality of the images, they were all taken with my phone camera and the lighting was no good. I'm looking to buy a new and better one, since mine doesn't work so well anymore.
Enjoy your weekend!
DIY
Necessity is the mother of invention. Not having everything presented on a silver platter, makes one creative in finding ways to fulfill their needs. The same rule certainly applies to the insatiable cravings of fashion addicts.
This video I've found of Chloe Daley at Refinery29.com shows how thinking out of the box - with little effort and expense - could bring an expensive looking evening clutch to your wardrobe. The tutorial is very easy to follow and is barely time consuming. I've always loved the idea of turning something old into something new, so if you feel the same way then make sure to check out some of her other video tutorials as well. For now, enjoy this creative tutorial after the jump!

Good to knows
However, even though I've been acquainted with Instagram for a while now, I really do still find myself indecisively scrolling through the filters quite often and longer than I intend to; sometimes to the dismay of my boyfriend when we're out having dinner in a restaurant and I insist on taking a picture of the food. Especially when the lighting is poor and I decide to blatantly turn on the flash to do justice to the food that is beautifully presented on the plate, I'm pushing his limits. So in terms of 'damage control', you could say that the less time I spend on 'instagramming' (at least when out for dinner and with the bf), probably the better.
Amsterdam Foodie Guide
Lunch at De Bakkerswinkel is truly a treat. One must be prepared to endure the chaos though and some patience is certainly necessary, especially when visiting in weekends. I've visited numerous times, and the food really rarely disappoints. What I love about this place, is that whether I have my mindset on a wholesome or slightly more sinful meal (think: rich salads versus scones and all kinds of yummy cakes) , the menu is extensive enough to satisfy both needs. In my particular case, on that sunny sunday afternoon, I craved both :) So after a long walk to Westerpark, I gave in. And as you must've noticed, it was more than satisfactory.
